Terms of Service

Effective October 24, 2026. Version 2026-10-24.

These terms are the agreement between you and Postgrads. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use Postgrads.

Read section 5 and section 7 carefully. They cover the conduct we require and the risks you take on by meeting people in person.

1. Who can use Postgrads

You must be at least 18 years old. Postgrads arranges in-person meetings between adults and is not intended for minors under any circumstances.

You must provide accurate information about yourself. Impersonating another person, or creating a profile that misrepresents who you are, is grounds for immediate removal.

2. Your account

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password secure. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it.

One person, one account. Do not create an account on behalf of someone else, and do not share yours.

3. What Postgrads does and does not do

Postgrads suggests groups and times. That is the whole of what we do.

We do not conduct background checks, identity verification, or criminal record screening on members. We do not supervise, host, or attend hangouts. We do not vet venues. A match is a suggestion, not a recommendation, an endorsement, or a guarantee about anyone's character or intentions.

4. Content you post

You keep ownership of what you write and upload. You give us permission to store and display it as needed to operate the service — for example showing your bio and photo to other members in your city.

You are responsible for what you post. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to share.

5. Community rules and zero tolerance for objectionable content

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour on Postgrads. You agree that you will not:

Accounts that violate these rules are removed. We do not require a pattern of behaviour before acting — a single serious violation is enough.

6. Reporting, blocking, and how we respond

You can block any member from their profile or from a conversation. Blocking is immediate and mutual in effect: neither of you will see the other in browsing, and neither can start a conversation with the other.

You can report any member or conversation from the conversation screen. Reports go to us directly.

We review every report of objectionable content or abusive behaviour and act on it within 24 hours. Acting may mean removing content, suspending an account, or permanently banning a member. We may act without prior notice to the member concerned.

If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. We are not an emergency service and cannot respond in real time.

7. Meeting people in person — your risk

This is the most important section in this document.

Postgrads introduces you to people you do not know. We do not screen them. You are solely responsible for your own safety, your own decisions about whom to meet, and your own conduct at a hangout.

Take the precautions you would take with any stranger: meet in public, tell someone where you are going, arrange your own transport, and leave whenever you want to.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you assume all risk arising from your interactions with other members, whether in the app or in person, and you release Postgrads from any claim arising out of those interactions.

8. Attendance

Confirming a hangout is a commitment to other people who are also rearranging their week. If you cannot make it, decline early so the spot can go to someone else.

Repeatedly confirming and not showing up may result in removal from the service.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these terms, if we believe you present a risk to other members, or if we are required to by law.

You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings. Deletion is permanent and immediate, and is described in full in our Privacy Policy.

10. The service is provided as is

Postgrads is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that you will be matched to a hangout, that any hangout will take place, that anyone will attend, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Postgrads is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, goodwill, or profits, arising from your use of the service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to Postgrads will not exceed one hundred US dollars (USD $100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. Where that is the case, the limitations above apply only to the extent permitted.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Postgrads harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the service, your content, your conduct at a hangout, or your violation of these terms or of any law.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will notify you in the app before it takes effect, and continuing to use Postgrads after that point means you accept the updated terms.

15. Contact

Questions about these terms go to our support address, listed in Get Help inside the app and at the bottom of this document.
